COST OF LIVING
The WVU Bureau of Business and Economic Research released a cost of living index in 2015 that found the average cost of living in the Morgantown MSA was just 3.2 percent more than the national average. The research team surmised that the figure was driven mostly by housing costs, which are slightly higher than the national average. However, the research team also stated that other expenditures such as groceries, utilities, transportation and health care fall well below national averages.
